i found that the red/purple/pink design worked the best as it made the gorilla look more friendly. also it fits in well with the bizarre style of lazy oaf, as it is abnormal and different.
the designers looked better without using a black out line around all the shapes, this also worked well as it gave me a chance to experiment with different colours rather than having to worry about black taking up one of the three.
the live trace example, did not work out very well so i designed to pen tool all the design and put them as different layers.
i began by using live trace and live paint to test out how the design would look, i did this because the designs for lazy oaf are in a similar style to the stroke created by the live trace tool.
